fairies at the bottom of the garden

is this weeks theme over on the Tag it on blog, a new challenge blog for me as I on;y heard about it when I was looking at Joannes blog earlier.

My tag is quite big, not sure on the size, but the background is done with chalk inks and a few sprays of Glimmer mists.

The wings are stamped onto acetate and coloured with alcohol inks.

The stamps are by ISC, Inka and Paperartsy. The diamond paper is by Crafty Individuals.

I've posted two pictures as I couldn't pick up all the colour and the glimmer with or without the flash, so one is with the flash the other isn't.

Holiday Romance

The challenge this week on Tag your it is 'Our House'

I love making these little house shaped pieces so I had to have a go this week.

Another tag

The theme for this swap was Travel.

I made the background pretty much the same as the wings tag. This has an acetate overlay with a rub on quote on it.

Wings

This theme for this months tag swap is 'WINGS'. I love making my own backgrounds and that is exactly what I did for this tag. I like the satisfaction I get from taking a plain piece of paper and turning it into something quite nice.


This background I made by firstly screwing the paper up into a tight ball then added inks in different shades of green, gold and white, I then added some embossing powder, overstamped with a word stamp of unknown origin. I added some metalic rub-on cream all over the piece, it basically just held on the peaks of the creases.


The letters are from Basic Grey, they were covered in some basic Grey paper, and then messed up with embossing powder and the rub on creams.

Memories

This months tag swap is based on the theme of memories.I did find it hard to start with as we have so many memories in our lifetime but in the end I went with the idea of a childhood memory. I have tried to distress the overall look of the piece without making it look scruffy in any way, not sure if I succeeded, but I like the effect all the same.

DCM- Beady Eyed

This weeks dare over on DCM is to use beads on your work



Well this week is my dare (Saffa). Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy.

Vintage couple tag

I have signed up to a monthly tag swap with a group of friends. This is our first month and the theme was Vintage couples. I fancied doing something quite modern to go with the vintage picture so I used my alcohol inks on glossy card. The flower is a sticker and the hummingbirds are also stickers, stuck onto an acetate overlay.

A productive afternoon

I have been very low on motivation for a couple of weeks where my crafting has been concerned and so I asked a few friends if they fancied doing a couple of swaps with me. I find if I have an obligation I find the motivation and inspiration from somewhere, maybe it is having the person in mind who I am swapping with that gives me the kick I need. I had an ATC and a tag to make, both of which I have managed to do this afternoon.
This ATC is for a swap with my friend Louise, it is made on glossy cardstock with chalk inks and a copper coloured brilliance inkpad. The stamp is a lovely freebie I received from Paperartsy when I placed my last order with them.

The background is made using chalks. The swirl stamp is from the Drama foam stamp set by Heidi Swapp .
I think this tag has to be the biggest tag I have made to date, about 8 inches long, I think.

Think pink

Hey I've managed to post on my Blog for three days running, now believe me that is very good going. I am enjoying having a Blog and I have found myself using it as an excuse to take time out to create.

I've managed to make a small tag collage for this weeks 'Think pink' theme on Wednesday Stamper. The background is made with chalk inks on glossy card. The angels stamp is from PaperArtsy.
