Wednesday Stamper :- Coloured

Here is my contribution for this weeks Wednesday Stamper. It is actually a birthday card for a forum friend but I thought it was perfect for this weeks theme.

I love using my ink pads not only for stamping but for also colouring my work. This piece was done with Catseye Chalk inks and Brilliance Dew Drops.

Thanks for looking.

More alcohol inking

After discovering my love of alcohol inks not so long ago, I have found myself using them quite a lot. I spent one afternoon just playing with a pack of glossy postcards and my inks, just seeing what effects I could come up with. The background I have used on this card I really liked and had to make something with it straight away. A friend of mine had a birthday coming up and so it was with her in mind I made this card. The flowers are punched from the scrapes of the background piece, never waste a thing me, lol. I used glossy accents from Ranger and micro beads that I got from the Fruit Pixie, a fantastic site for all those little bits we find ourselves wanting.
EDITED for Mamaluke the accent beads are stuck on with the Glossy accents as well as having a coat of it over the top of them, I have found this the best ashesive for beads.

Thankyou Joanne

I arrived home from a very boring trip to the supermarket this morning to find my postie had left me a package. I was a little surprised as I wasn't expecting anything, it was only when I opened it I realised what it was, the tag Joanne made for me as part of our swap. I say tag, but it is actually a little note book in the shape of a tag. I absolutely love it, so a big thankyou to you Joanne, any time you fancy a swap give me a shout.

Fantastic mail :o)

I had a hard morning at work today but it was soon forgotten when I got home and found the post that was waiting for me, the most stunning altered CD my friend Nicole had sent me for our swap. It looks beautiful in the photos but in real life it is so textured, really needs to be seen in the flesh. Nicole, thanks mate.

A productive afternoon

I have been very low on motivation for a couple of weeks where my crafting has been concerned and so I asked a few friends if they fancied doing a couple of swaps with me. I find if I have an obligation I find the motivation and inspiration from somewhere, maybe it is having the person in mind who I am swapping with that gives me the kick I need. I had an ATC and a tag to make, both of which I have managed to do this afternoon.
This ATC is for a swap with my friend Louise, it is made on glossy cardstock with chalk inks and a copper coloured brilliance inkpad. The stamp is a lovely freebie I received from Paperartsy when I placed my last order with them.

This tag I have made for my friend Joanne
The background is made using chalks. The swirl stamp is from the Drama foam stamp set by Heidi Swapp .
I think this tag has to be the biggest tag I have made to date, about 8 inches long, I think.

Thanks for taking time out to visit my blog.

Altered CD

I am doing an altered CD swap with my very talented friend Nicole. I have used pearlised paints for the background, and also to stamp the spots. The quote is from Paperartsy Young Love plate3.

Thanks for looking.

Bittersweet news

For as long asI can remember my daughter has wanted to be a childrens courier for a holiday company. She had several interviews last year and despite having all the right qualifications didn't get a job purely because she wasn't yet 18. Sam turned 18 last August and she was determined this year would be her year to get her dream job. She had her first interview of the year on Friday, with the Eurocamps holiday company, and she was quite confident after a very good interview. Well today the letter arrived, she has been successful in her quest for the job she has wanted for so long. I am over the moon for her and have told her to take every opportunity life offers, but at the same time my Mommy genes have kicked in and I want to keep her locked up in her room and never let her grow up. I know she is going to have a whale of a time, spending the summer in a European country, making lots of new friends, and just generally living her dream, but I know I am going to find it so difficult to let her go.
Well done Sam, I am so proud of you. Go knock their socks off.

Spring has sprung

I haven't made anything for a few days and was beginning to feel as though I was neglecting my blog so I thought I'd post a few photos I took. On Thursday it was gorgeous spring morning, you know the sort, bright cloudless blue sky, sun shining, birds singing, get the picture, lol. Well in my neighbours garden is a plum tree which came out in a lovely white froth of blossom. It looked so pretty against the blue sky that I had to take some photos.

cards

I have found myself with a fair bit of free time over the last couple of day so I have used my time wisely and made cards, lol. This first card I have made for a friend who had a small operation last week. She is making a good recovery, but I just wanted her to know I was thinking of her. The background of this card was done using alcohol inks.

This card is very small, only about 3'x3'. I like this shape, a little different to a basic square. I have used pearlised water colour paints to make all the backgrounds for this card, and then over stamped them. Shame the pictuere isn't brilliant as this is shimmery in real life.
Another card with pearlised paints for the background. I even used the paints as stamping ink, really like the effect this gives. The dragonfly is coated in a Matt Accents from Ranger.
